The opportunity has arisen to join Nicolson Square Venues as a Cleaner
Nicolson Square Venues are owned by the City of Edinburgh Methodist Church (CEMC). The venues are unique, historical properties connected in 2012 with a modern extension and installation of a lift to all levels of the building. As well as continuing to be an active church with the Edinburgh Methodist congregation meeting every Sunday in the Great Hall, the venues host a variety of meetings, conferences and events as well as providing basement level office space for businesses and charities.
Hours of work: 15 hours per week. The venues operate over 7 days. Shifts will be agreed in advance with the Venue Operations Manager and will include early morning shifts generally between 8am-11am, 5 days out of 7 days including weekdays & weekends. Some evening shifts maybe required on occasion.
Rate of Pay: £12.60ph
Main Responsibilities:
Daily cleaning of the venue including all floors and toilets, topping up hand towels, soap and toilet roll, mopping, hoovering, polishing, dusting and rubbish removal inside and outside
Maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the venue
Reporting of any larger repairs & maintenance required
Person Specification
Required:
Previous experience in cleaning
A working knowledge of using cleaning products in accordance with COSHH guidelines
Basic knowledge of Microsoft and internet applications
Desired:
Proactive support for the department and our growing team
Previous experience of working in an events environment
An understanding, respect and implementation of Methodist Church values while at work.
